After winning the hearts of nearly everyone, Ajax is going to be eager to replicate (or even better ) the exploits of last year — and I am backing them to start their own campaign with a boom against Lille.
Erik ten Hag remains with the club, which is a enormous increase, and I’m convinced they’ll never let standards drop a lot, as they have retained a lot of last season’s group — with the obvious exceptions of Matthijs de Ligt along with Frenkie de Jong.
Lille have had a mixed start to their seasonlosing their opening 2 Ligue 1 away games from Reims and Amiens –and it’s a tall order to acquire anything from a Ajax side on the road.
RB Leipzig seem good this season, and I have them beating against Benfica away from home.
The Portuguese side have tasted defeat at home this effort –a loss to Porto–although Leipzig sit top of the Bundesliga.
Even a 3-1 away win in a great Borussia Monchengladbach outfit a couple of weeks ago is proof of the prowess on the street of Leipzig, and I’m confident about their opportunities on Tuesday.
Finally, I have RB Salzburg beating Genk.
Genk have fought domestically this year, losing to Zulte Waregem, KV Mechelen and Sporting Charleroi and winning one off game so much.
Salzburg have dominated event and last season showed their art to the European stage, winning all six Europa League team matches against Leipzig, Celtic and Rosenborg, until eventually succumbing from the knockouts to Napoli.
This can be home side.
