MMAOddsBreaker.com can now officially confirm UFC Heavyweight Stipe Miocic was forced out of his upcoming UFC Fight Night 76 bout against Ben Rothwell due to an unspecified training injury. Both top 10 fighters were scheduled to throw in the co-main event of next Saturday’s (October 24, 2015) event in Dublin, Ireland, that is headlined by the lightweight battle involving Joseph Duffy and Dustin Poirier and will be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass. Miocic (#3 ranked HW) was coming off the very remarkable performance of his career, a fifth round TKO stoppage of former title challenger Mark Hunt where he place a UFC heavyweight record for the majority of strikes landed at a single struggle. He has won four of his last five fights with his only loss being a competitive decision against former winner Junior dos Santos. Rothwell (#7 rated HW) is now riding a three-fight win series which included surprising first round angry stoppage successes over the Matt Mitrione and Alistair Overeem. There’s been no word as to whether or not UFC matchmakers will have the ability to get a last minute replacement for Miocic or when Rothwell will probably be forced off the fight card entirely.
